States retained the Curtis Cup after an exciting
finish before a crowd in excess of 8,000 in glorious
sunshine at Formby.
Great Britain & Ireland won the morning foursomes
2-1 to tie up the scoreline at 6-6 with the final
six singles to play.
GB & I at one stage led in 3 ties and were
all square in another but the United States finished
strongly to take the singles 4-2 for a 10-8 overall
victory.
