Erica has been a sophomore (second year) student at the University of Arizona in 2003-2004. Rated one of the most explosive players on the circuit, she made an instant impact in American college golf. She was the Pac-10 Conference's Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year for the 2002-2003 college golf season, closing her freshman year with nine consecutive top-10 finishes, including two wins.

She tied for third place in the 2003 NCAA championship to earn first-team NCGA American honours. Erica was a quarter-finalist at the 2003 US women's championship, having reached the third round in 2002.

Erica began the 2003-2004 season with three consecutive victories. She is only the third University of Arizona team player to be selected for a Curtis Cup match. "I'm very excited. To be selected as one of the eight amateurs from our country is an honour." she says.
