Liz, who was completed her sophomore season at Duke University,
Durham in North Carolina, has qualified for three US Women's Opens
- in 2000, 2002 and 2003. She tied for 30th at last year's championship
at Pumpkin Ridge. She was a first team All-American choice last
year and was also the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the
Year. Named by the US National Golf Coaches Association
as the NCAA Division 1 women's Player of the Year for 2003-2004
Long-hitting Liz - she's 5ft 6in tall - won three of the four
autumn events in 2003 - stroke average 69-73 on the college circuit
to jump to the top of Golfweek's female rankings.
She was introduced to golf at the age of three. Played No1 in
her high school golf team - the only girl in the line-up - as
a freshman and sophomore. |
